Welcome

Welcome to the Association of Consulting Foresters blog. Using this blog allows ACF members to easily communicate ideas about consulting forestry and discuss matters of concern to our profession.

About ACF

The Association of Consulting Foresters of America, Inc. (ACF) was founded in 1948 to advance the professionalism, ethics, and interests of professional foresters whose primary work was consulting to the public.

ACF is the only national association for consulting foresters and is organized into state or multi-state chapters located in most forested regions of the U.S. There are 26 chapters which hold regular meetings and pursue regional issues. A National Office is maintained in the Washington, DC area to pursue national level issues and interact with other organizations involved in forest management.

ACF members operate in corporations, partnerships, and sole proprietorships with 1 to 100+ employees. Many are general foresters while others have professional specialties within forestry. Clients include landowners, forest industries, investment & financial industries, attorneys, government agencies, bankers, trusts, Native American corporations, and many others. Many operate within their own localities, while others consult worldwide.

Purpose of ACF Chapter Services

To actively seek to increase Chapter membership through workshops (with an emphasis on ethics training) at Chapter meetings as needed.

To assist Chapters with organizational structure, programming, and leadership development as needed.

To actively seek to educate Chapters on member benefits.
